Concordia Academy offers enriching educational curriculum with a foundation in sound Christian values to our students. We use data-driven, research-based curriculum utilizing an array of methods to address different learning styles.

 

Highlights:

 

  • Concordia Academy provides an integrated learning environment that is technology rich. Our Educational Technologist provides all classes with lab experience and leadership in the use of many classroom technology tools including the use of iPads.

  • The science curriculum is designed to be inquiry based and experiential in nature. We encourage student exploration and discovery while providing guidance and background in foundational life skills and concepts.

  • Concordia Academy offers fine arts opportunities which include Band, Strings, Vocal Music, music education, art and performance opportunities for all children in every grade. Students participate annually in a "Gathering of the Talents" vocal and visual fine arts show held at Concordia University.

  • At Concordia, we believe it takes a "family" to provide quality, Christ-Centered education. Teachers, parents, and students work together to provide optimal growth opportunities.

 

CA believes in Achievement testing and assessment individualized for each student. Since 2013-14 our achievement test of choice is Northwest Education Association MAP testing, which dynamically adapts to a student’s responses – as they take the test.

• Answer a question correctly and the test presents a more challenging item

• Miss a question, and MAP offers a simpler item In this way, the test narrows in on a student’s learning level, engaging them with content that allows them to succeed.

Students in Grades 3-6 take the MAP assessment once in the Fall and once in the Spring. Individual results are used to help student, teachers, and parents set student-specific learning goals. Teachers also review class-wide trends and plan curriculum and instruction around the results of our assessments.
